After watching the movie I simply had to go back and recreate my old shaders, complete with screen-space halftones and shading that can be controlled on a shot by shot basis. Currently, the node can be used with any texture input, dynamically reacts to lighting and can output both lit and unlit results in real-time with no discernable performance hit.
